Sokol Blosser to host rooftop wine tasting

ResidentSokol Blosser's red blend (Meditrina)s of Indigo may remember our innaugural wine tasting back in January when we spent an enjoyable evening enjoying wines from Yamhill Valley Vineyards. Well, word spread pretty quickly about what a great venue our Sapphire Room is for hosting a wine tasting and now Sokol Blosser will be generously providing the wine for our 2nd rooftop tasting.

We are happy to welcome Sokol Blosser to our building and their environmentally friendly practices fit right in with our own. They boast an impressive list of eco-friendly practices: the leed_certestate is USDA certified organic, they use 50% biodiesal in their farm tractors, they use unbleached paper products, recycle as much as possible, and similar to Indigo’s LEED certification, their underground cellar is LEED certified by the Cascade Green Building Council.

I spoke with Sokol Blosser yesterday and they let me know that they will be bringing four wines to sample; a red blend (Meditrina), a white blend (Evolution), a pinot gris, and a pinot noir.

A gourmet hors d’oeuvres menu has been carefully selected and will be prepared on site by Executive Chef, Mark Henry. I think I might be more excited about the food, but regardless, I anticipate this tasting with Sokol Blosser to be a huge success. In the last week, I have overheard many people chattering about it in the lobby. So get your glasses ready because the Sapphire Room is the place to be this Wednesday night.

The tasting is open to residents and their guests only and will be held in The Sapphire Room from 7pm-pm.

Up Go The Turbines!

We all prepare...

Finally, in a city as green as Portland, we are stepping it up and putting up the first inner city wind turbines! Seriously, to be on top of that building when the first turbine went up was electric (powered by the wind of course)… 8:00 AM PST the group gathered. Everone from Hoffman construction, to ZGF, to Gerding Edlen… all teeming with excitement to see if we could pull this off. With sheer force and will we hoisted the 50 ft. turbine in the air. By 9:00 we had the first of four towers standing atop Indigo. 9:18 AM the lever is pulled and five minutes later with a slight breeze blowing we were producing our own energy. How’s that for innovation?!  Take a look at stills from this morning!

First off:  THANK YOU EVERONE for voting, submitting, posting, etc. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the response from everyone! Thank you Portland, thank you Oregon, thank you World! Anyhoo, there have been an overwhelming number of people who have been asking about names. Duh?! Of course. We appologize for the delay as we are trying to set up our new website… more blogs (much more… going to be on top of it with news/events/part-ay’s and such) and… MOST IMPORTANTLY… info on how to live, lease, and be apart of the living experience at ______ insert name here building.  Now… the moment you have all be waiting for….

The name of the gym is… THE TURBINE!

The roof top garden/community room… THE SAPPHIRE ROOM!

we have chosen two names. The first is for the name of the apartments. The second is the name for the building itself….

so it’s Indigo @ twelve west.

Now, Portland/Oregon/World. Come visit. Come play. We have events going every first Thursday with PNCA and their roving gallery. We have art and fashion and film for all to see. We have 273 STUNNING Apts for all to come live in. We have wind turbines and yoga classes. We have catered Jakes and personal trainers (interestingly enough they go hand in hand… my down fall). Your job… come check it out. It’s fun. It’s cutting edge. It’s Indigo… how’s that for a tagline. In fact…
