Portland Sunday Parkways is back and this Sunday, August 15, Portland’s SE neighborhood is going car-free. The Hawthorne Street Fair will also take place on Sunday, August 15, from 11am-5pm. So join in on the fun!

Sunday Parkways is an annual event that turns our streets into parks, if only for a day. It works like this; large routes of streets get blocked off to cars and opened up to pedestrians, bikers, runners, etc.

Getting cars off the streets is such a unique opportunity in our society that I wouldn’t want to miss this.

The Wednesday market at Shemanski Park is held downtown at the north end of the South Park Blocks between Salmon & Main. Held May 5 through October 27 from 10am-2pm. This market is located in Portland’s beautiful park blocks and provides for a lovely outing or lunch options for those living and working in the downtown area. Enjoy local produce, eat healthy, support the local economy, encourage awareness, become part of your community, think sustainability, and live a conscience life.
