Last Thursday, Indigo @ Twelve|West was happy to welcome back Yamhill Valley Vineyards back for a second wine tasting. Some of our first residents were lucky enough to enjoy a smaller event with Yamhill back in January. While the first event was also a success, it was exciting to see such a great turnout for Yamhill’s second visit.
Featured wines included Yamhill’s 2007 Pinot Blanc Reserve, 2007 Pinot Gris, and their 2008 Pinot Noir Reserve. The Pinot Gris and the Pinot Blanc seemed to be the most popular standouts and a few who were familiar with Yamhill’s wines inquired about their famous “Tall Poppy,” an impressive 2005 Pinot Noir.
As usual, our lovable executive chef, Mark Henry, carefully paired a delectable menu to match the wine selection. The watermelon, feta cheese salad was a unique, summery dish, as was the bay shrimp coctail ceviche. We owe a huge thanks to Mark for putting so much time and effort into his community. His complimentary dishes really bring out the subtle flavors in the wines.

Though it started slow, due to competition from First Thursday events, the tasting proved quite successful by the end and we are quickly learning that The Sapphire Room never disappoints.
If you are interested in ordering wine, Yamhill has generously offered a discount, good through the month of August. Order forms can be found at the concierge desk. It’s a great opportunity to stock up with some of the region’s best.
Thanks again to Yamhill Valley Vineyards, Chef Mark Henry, and our residents for another great evening. Stay tuned to hear what’s in store for next month.
